Tim Tucker

Tim Tucker was a well-respected and admired friend and associate. He changed the way the world views bass fishing and was liked and admired by those who were lucky enough to know him. His untimely passing in 2007 has touched the lives of so many people around the world. Here is a brief biography from his website:

Tim Tucker was one of the country's most published outdoor writers. In addition to being a senior writer for BASSMASTER Magazine and B.A.S.S. Times, his work appeared in Southern Outdoors, BASSMASTER Tour, BASSMASTER Destinations, Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, American Angler, Fishing Tackle Retailer, Southern Saltwater, Fishing Facts, Florida Sportsman, Bassin', Florida Wildlife, Bass Fishing, Petersen's Fishing, Texas Game and Fish, Advanced Bass Fishing, Bass Pro Shops' Outdoor World, Crappie, The In-Fisherman, North American Fisherman, Bass and Walleye Boat, Remington Country, Tournament Angler News, Aqua-Field Publications, and others. His newspaper contributions included Palm Beach Post, Gainesville Sun, Orlando Sentinel, Ocala Star Banner, Lakeland Ledger and Greensboro News and Record.

Tucker served as the outdoor writer for the Palm Beach Post and Gainesville Sun newspapers and he was the pro fishing writer for the Universal Pres Syndicate's outdoor page, which is distributed to 33 newspapers.

A project he developed was a one-of-a-kind bi-monthly newsletter designed to help fishermen make more money in the business of fishing. Tim Tucker's Pro Angling Insider was a bi-monthly, 8-aper newsletter that covered the business side of fishing like nothing before it.

He authored eight books: Roland Martin's 101 Bass-Catching Secrets (1988), Advanced Shiner Fishing Techniques (1989), Secrets of America's Best Bass Pros (1990), MORE! Secrets of America's Best Bass Pros (1991), Doug Hannon's Fisherman's Logbook (1992), Diary of a Bass Pro (1992), Bill Dance on Crappie (1995) and Bill Dance on Largemouth Bass (1996). Tucker conceived and produced the award-winning Bass Sessions™ Series of instructional audio cassettes featuring the top names in professional fishing.

Along with outdoors public relations leader Mike Walker, he conducted two successful workshops titled How To Promote Yourself and Attract Sponsors for aspiring and professional fishermen. The booklet/audio cassette presentation of this seminar, titled The Bass Pro Workshop, was later honored as the Southeastern Outdoor Press Association's Best Outdoor Entrepreneurial Project—as judged by the editor of Inc. Magazine.

Tim was also the only writer selected as an instructor in the highly popular B.A.S.S. Fishing Techniques national seminar series. He was the featured guest on The Bassmasters, Anglers In Action, Prime Time Outdoors and Outdoor Trails with Barry Stokes national television fishing shows.

In 1991, he promoted the highly successful Bass Sessions '91, a one-day consumer show that featured America's top names in bass fishing and fishing industry exhibits.

Tim Tucker won more than 100 awards for his writing and photography since 1982.

He is profoundly missed by his wife Darlene along with their twins Rachel and Kyle.
